Eight-Legged Freaks
(1) The driver of the truck that was hauling a few hundred gallons of toxic waste hit a guardrail when he swerved to avoid hitting a rabbit. The spill contaminated a pond.  (2) It wasn't. That was one of the film's taglines. (3) "Modern chemicals for enhanced living." (4) It was three times larger.
(5) The mutant arachnids bled green blood.

(6) The correct answer is the remodeling job he was doing on their house. Getting it on under the sheets would have been our first guess. Not tonight, honey. (7) He discovered what its blood tasted like when some of it dripped into his mouth. (8) A mounted deer head  (9) The spiders were attracted to vibrations.  (10) No mention was made of the mutant arachnids. The headline read, "Town devastated by natural gas explosion."

Arachnophobia
A Daddy Long Legs crawled into his crib when he was two years old.

Unless you're a zombie or some carnivorous monstrosity that feeds on Hypothalamus glands. If you know anything about evolutionary biology, you know why Dr. Green's (Penelope Ann Miller) initial idea to kill the creature in The Relic would have worked. Of course, we're assuming you don't.
Put your knowledge of all-things that creep, slither and crawl to the test with the only movie monster survival guide/quiz book of its kind.

What will you do when they come for you?
Live and learn. Learn and live!

Lights, Camera, Trivia

A severed rabbit's foot might be considered a good luck charm in some places. For the residents of Prosperity, Arizona, it would only serve as a reminder of the day their town was overrun by an infestation of giant arachnids. Explain why.
2. What do you get when you cross toxic waste with a bunch of exotic spiders? Eaten would be our guess. Was that question raised in the film?

3. Who wants to live in a town that's infested with mutant arachnids? The residents of Prosperity should have jumped at Viroanol's first offer. Why they chose to remain may have had something to do with the company's slogan.

4. You don't have to be an authority on eight-legged freaks to answer this next question, but it would certainly help. How did the female orb weaver spider differ from the male of the species?

5. The female orb weaver spider filled its prey with a digestive enzyme so it could drink whatever it caught, from the inside out. We managed to squash one of the bastards before it could do the same to us. Guess what came out.
The fear of spiders isn't that uncommon. It's the degree to which that fear is illustrated in certain individuals that makes you wonder. Where does that fear come from? Dr. Jennings' (Jeff Daniels) phobia could be traced back to what traumatic experience?

6. They say great minds think alike. If that's true, and you're half as smart as we think we are, you won't miss this one or the answer we came up with. What did Emma (Jane Edith Wilson) want her husband to stop doing because it was late and she was getting tired?

7. If someone asked us to remind them of something that Deputy Willis (Rick Overton) never forgot, we'd start with the spider that jumped onto the roof of his patrol car. That particular encounter left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. How's that for a clue?

8. You wouldn't think a mutant arachnid would care what it ate, as long as it could be digested. But they were selective. If you don't believe us, fast-forward to the diner sequence. What did one of the creatures spit out?

9. Think you could remain calm, cool and collected if
you were trapped in a mall that was infested with giant arachnids? For your sake, we sure hope so. Why was that advice crucial to one's survival?

10. Eight-Legged Freaks Infest Local Town! News at eleven. The newspaper headline that appeared at the end of the film left something out. What did it omit?
