Godzilla
(1) The fossilized remains were too old. (2) His concerns were voiced over the phone. (3) The discs that contained the information he needed to prove that the meltdown wasn't caused by a natural disaster. (4) The creature's electromagnetic pulses created havoc with the ship's radar and satellite feeds. (5) She thought if they killed the MUTO, it might release the radiation the creatures absorbed from the reactors.

(6) The female remained "dormant" until the male matured. (7) It was the range of the creature's electromagnetic pulse. (8) Dr. Graham asked that question. They were hoping the sheer force of the blast would do it. (9) Monarch

Godzilla '98
The missing floor in the building near the 23rd street subway station meant that the creature could tunnel its way out of the quarantine zone.

Unless you're a zombie or some carnivorous monstrosity that feeds on Hypothalamus glands. If you know anything about evolutionary biology, you know why Dr. Green's (Penelope Ann Miller) initial idea to kill the creature in The Relic would have worked. Of course, we're assuming you don't.
Put your knowledge of all-things that creep, slither and crawl to the test with the only movie monster survival guide/quiz book of its kind.

What will you do when they come for you?

Lights, Camera, Trivia
..................................
When one of Dr. Serizawa's (Ken Watanabe) assistants exclaimed, "Oh, my god, is it him?" in the film's opening sequence, it wasn't said with quite the same enthusiasm that we displayed when we saw Godzilla for the first time. If the remains were his, the tomb
that was discovered in the Philippines would have been the creature's final resting place. How did he know they weren't?

2. Pay attention and look at us, damn it, when we're asking you these questions. They could save your life. Why wasn't Joe (Bryan Cranston) looking at Takashi (Ken Yamamura) when he urged him to shut down the reactor due to unexplained frequency patterning?

3. You know why we never bothered to learn how to communicate with parasitic spores? Because A. They have absolutely no interest in movie trivia and B. Even if they were, they don't buy books. It was an acoustic expert who debunked the "strange noise" mystery, not Joe. What was he looking for the day he was arrested for trespassing in the quarantine zone?

4. Finding a Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism isn't as easy as

Gareth Edwards, 2014
Why walk around something if you're big (and strong) enough to bulldoze your way through it and save yourself a few extra steps? If lots of things crumbled when Godzilla rumbled his way through New York City, one missing floor wouldn't have been any more of a concern than any other, unless somebody or something of great importance disappeared with it. There's another possibility, you know, which would explain it.
More questions, more monsters in The Monster Book of Movie Monster Trivia
one might think. That's due largely to what? It's what relegated the USS Saratoga to a visual pursuit when they lost sight of the creature that made its way east, across the Pacific.

5. How many times have you seen someone let a monster escape for one reason or another instead of killing it? That almost never happens. When it does, there's usually a good explanation for it. What was Dr. Graham's (Sally Hawkins)?

6. If a creature as large as the MUTO burrowed its way beneath a heavily-guarded nuclear waste repository, don't you think someone in the area would have at least felt a tremor? Not if it was ..., which it was. Figure that one out.

7. Anyone who was within a 200 mile radius of the MUTO's Sphere of Influence  (excluding military personnel) was urged to find shelter, stay indoors and
stay off the roads. You wouldn't have to tell us twice. We just want to know what the hell that is before we fasten down the proverbial hatches.

8. Only one person had the good sense to ask how a nuclear warhead rigged with a shielded timer to lure the MUTO and Godzilla twenty miles out to sea would destroy creatures that fed on radiation. The answer, kids, to both questions.

9. How do we know all this? We asked them the same questions we're asking you. We can't tell you who they are; you'll have to tell us. We were sworn to secrecy by the coalition that was established to search for the King of the Monsters and to study him.
