BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR
Nutty Professor 2: The Klumps
Peter Segal, 2000

Never underestimate the power of positive thinking. It's served us well over the years. What inspired Navin (Steve Martin) to go out into the world and "Be somebody"?
We try not to discriminate against anyone, but sometimes you have to. The manager (Chris Elliott) of Taylor's restaurant must have weighed the idea of a lawsuit (which may have been less costly) while the Klumps' were gorging themselves at the all-you-can-eat buffet. We came up a few ideas that may have gotten them to leave. Tell us which one you like best and see if it matches our answer.

A. Ask an employee to replenish the buffet with something you know they won't eat - fruits and vegetables.
B. Send a waitress over to the Klumps' table to slip 'em a Mickey - Mickey Cockroach. A mouse might send every one in the place running for the nearest exit.
C. Scold one of your employees for not washing their hands.

The Jerk
(1) He was inspired by some music he heard on the radio. (2) Tuna-fish salad on white bread with mayonnaise, a Tab, and a couple of Twinkie
(3) He wouldn't let Navin use his restroom without buying something. (4) He got the stuff from a pizza place that was demolished.
(5) Sit, slit, sheet and Slitted. ("I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit"). (6) I'm Picking out a Thermos for You

(7) The marketing department could have gotten some free publicity for a 25th anniversary re-issue of The Jerk by getting together with the producers of The David Letterman Show on a Top 10 List. Bogus sick-day excuses from people who make their living as blood donors… #1 I cut myself shaving this morning and nothing came out. (8) He went to the carnival and rode the Round-up for six hours. (9) Why were Navin and Marie married by a voodoo priest (Joe Lynn)? (10) He lost all his money in the class action suit that was filed by a group of irate citizens. He had to pay Carl Reiner and the other 9,987,652 plaintiffs $1.09 each after his Opti-Grab invention made them cock-eyed.

2. You know what we're in the mood for, right now? A slice of pizza, topped with French fries and gumballs. Don't laugh, stranger things have been eaten. What was Navin's favorite meal?

3. Most people would be happy with a dollar an hour raise. Navin would have been ecstatic because it would have doubled his salary at the gas station,
give or take a dime. The person who hired him did let him live at the place rent-free, but that didn't change our opinion of him. Tell us why we thought he was a douchebag.

4. Remember the truck that Navin rented? It wasn't anything to write home about, but it sure beat living in a storage room. He even had his own furniture. Now, we both know he couldn't afford to furnish the place on his own, so what gives? Maybe it was a gift. Either way, somebody has some explaining to do.
Unless you're a zombie or some carnivorous monstrosity that feeds on Hypothalamus glands. If you know anything about evolutionary biology, you know why Dr. Green's (Penelope Ann Miller) initial idea to kill the creature in The Relic would have worked. Of course, we're assuming you don't.
Put your knowledge of all-things that creep, slither and crawl to the test with the only movie monster survival guide/quiz book of its kind.

5. Stick your tongue out and try to twist it, with your fingers. It's near impossible. The tongue twister that Navin recited included four words that started with the letter S. Can you name three?

6. Is a bad song really that bad if it gets stuck in your head? That would only make it more annoying, wouldn't it? So the answer, of course, is "YES!" The song that Navin wrote for Marie (Bernadette Peters) certainly could have been defined as such. Go ahead, make a fool of yourself and sing us the chorus.

7. "Free publicity!" Now that's music to almost anyone's ears, isn't it? We're going to tell you how the producers of this film missed out on a golden opportunity if you can piece together the clues we've provided.

8. When the tides of life turn against you and the current upsets your boat, don't waste those tears on what might have been. Just lay on your back and float. The lesson there, kids? Life is to short to wallow in regrets. How did Navin try to cheer himself up when Marie left?

9. We'll give you the answer to this one, you give us the question. Because they wanted to get married quick, and he was the only priest available at the time.

10. If every dark cloud has a silver lining wouldn't the following also be true: over every silver lining, hovers a dark cloud. Navin came into more money than he knew what to do with thanks to his eyeglasses-handle idea. How did he lose that fortune?
