Marcus Nispel, 2003
.......................................................................................................................................
We hear there's a family of cannibals in Texas that welcomes uninvited guests - for dinner. There's just one thing you gotta do for Old Monty (Terrence Evans) if he answers the door. It's nothing to worry about, just a bit odd given what was inside the place.

Unless you're a zombie or some carnivorous monstrosity that feeds on Hypothalamus glands. If you know anything about evolutionary biology, you know why Dr. Green's (Penelope Ann Miller) initial idea to kill the creature in The Relic would have worked. Of course, we're assuming you don't.
Put your knowledge of all-things that creep, slither and crawl to the test with the only movie monster survival guide/quiz book of its kind.

What will you do when they come for you?

The story began with a bird's eye view of the city of Phoenix - which, intentional or not - was a reference to Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins). We found another. Did you?
2. Which (if any) of the following statements are incorrect?

A. Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) was lying on a bed when her character was introduced.
B. Marion expressed her concern about getting back to work, but no mention was made of how long she had been gone or how much time she had left.
C. Marion said something to Sam (John Gavin) that indicated that they had met at the same hotel before.
D. The name of the hotel was never disclosed.

3. Marion kept insisting that she wasn't in any sort of trouble, but it was obvious to anyone who wasn't blind that she was in a hurry. She also kept looking over her shoulder. That didn't go unnoticed by the person (John Anderson) who sold her the used car. She almost left two items at the lot - her suitcase and what else?

4. The answer to this question appeared in another quiz of ours'. How did Marion get Norman's attention when she arrived at the Bates Motel?

5. We always wondered what happened to the book we signed for Norman during our stay at the Bates Motel. Now we know. What was he referring to when he told Marion, "You can keep (that) as a memento if you

(5) The Bates Motel stationary

(6) You run a taxidermy supply shop (7) His reflection was cast in the window of one of the cabins. (8) He told her that his mother was as harmless as one of his stuffed birds. want to make your friends envious"?

6. You're a small business owner who has always done a decent trade with the hunters in the area, but now that the new highway has been built, there is less land for the hunters to hunt on and the business is experiencing a slow period. One day, out of the blue, the young man who runs the old Bates Motel down the way comes in and places a rather large order. It's the biggest order you have had in months. You recognize the young man as Norman Bates and remember the horrible time he had when his mother died. Norman is quiet and rather shy acting and fidgety like he's uncomfortable in his skin. Although he has been in your shop before, you didn't think he was a hunter. While collecting some of the items on his list you ask, "What did you shoot, a buffalo?" Rather than respond, young Mr. Bates offers a half-hearted grin and looks down at the floor silently. You're too happy to pay him any real attention while you bundle his supplies. You also notice him pecking candy corns from a brown paper bag in his coat pocket. What kind of shop do you run?

7. When Norman remarked,
"My mother, she isn't quite herself today," a manifestation of his split personality appeared as a reflection. The question is where.

8. This next question is worth a personal phone call from Anthony Perkins himself if you get it right. Norman said something to Marion in the chapter entitled Mother's Problem that indicated that his mother was deceased. What was it?

9. Detective Arbogast (Martin Balsam) noticed two things that either got his attention and/or drew his suspicion after Norman remarked, "If you don't believe me, you can help me change the linens." One was the figure he saw in the window. The other was when Norman stopped at the first cabin, but didn't go inside. How did he confirm what he already suspected - that Marion checked into the Bates Motel?

10. Marion never met Mrs. Bates, but Norman said something to the detective that indicated that she did. If you need a hint on this one, it began with the words, "She might have."
