  EVIL NEVER DIES
Resident Evil
Paul Anderson, 2002

You've got one shot to get this one right. That was all Kaplan (Martin Crews) had when he used his last bullet to blow a zombie's brains out instead of his own. Was it because he didn't realize he only had one bullet left, it was against his religion to take his own life or because he wanted to go down fighting?

Resident Evil: Afterlife
(1) The first zombie attack in the film came from a woman who was wearing ruby shoes. (2) Her agility and reflexes. She also used one of the guards as a shield. The shot that did hit its mark was only a hologram. (3) The look in her eyes. Her pupils changed. (4) Flooding the main entrance with nerve gas (5) She thanked him for that very reason, because it made her human again, for a brief time, anyway.

(6) The video camera she used to record her thoughts and messages. (7) Swim (8) She jumped off the roof with an elevator cable in hand. (9) Split (10) That would be through the tunnels which led to the sewers which led to the storm drain which led to the sea.

He wanted to go down fighting

Unless you're a zombie or some carnivorous monstrosity that feeds on Hypothalamus glands. If you know anything about evolutionary biology, you know why Dr. Green's (Penelope Ann Miller) initial idea to kill the creature in The Relic would have worked. Of course, we're assuming you don't.
Put your knowledge of all-things that creep, slither and crawl to the test with the only movie monster survival guide/quiz book of its kind.

What will you do when they come for you?
Live and learn. Learn and live!

Frights, Camera, Trivia
..................................
There's no place like home, kids, even if it isn't a fortified bunker in a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland. If Dorothy saw what caught our eye in the film's opening sequence, she probably would have risked life and limb for it, because as everyone knows, a woman can never have too many of those.
2. Every guard that opened fire on Alice (Milla Jovovich) (and survived) when she infiltrated the Umbrella corporation's headquarters should have been fired. Give us two reasons why she wasn't wounded by a single bullet.

3. It didn't seem to take much of an effort to dispose of the second unit that was dispatched. Alice never even moved. What did the viewer see that she couldn't right before the ground was torn asunder?

4. "Any more questions?" You bet there are, lots of em. That was Wesker's (Shawn Roberts) right after he put a bullet in someone's head for questioning one of his orders. Which one?

5. When Wesker asked Alice if she had any last words after he injected her with a serum that neutralized the T cells in her body, she thanked him. Why, if it took away everything that made

her something more than human?

6. Just wondering; if the human species ever did dwindle down to a lone, female survivor who could talk an ear off, do you think that person would keep on yapping, even if no one was listening? We'd bet on it. Tom Hanks had Wilson in Castaway. Who (or what) became Alice's only companion while she was searching for the town of Arcadia?

7. If you can lead a zombie to water, you might also be able to teach it how to do what? The creatures that made it to the armory learned how to do the same thing, somewhere.

8. Alone with her thoughts and a horde of ravenous zombies (as if there's any other kind), atop the Citadel Correctional Facility, Alice stops for a moment, fires, runs and then keeps on firing and running with the
pack closing in on her back. There's only way out and that's down. What happened next?

9. Dumb dog, why does it keep sitting when we ask it to ... Maybe it's because a zombie hound will only do that when it damn-well feels like it because, from the looks of it, it looked like it hurt like hell.

10. The group eventually figured out how to reach the Arcadia with as little zombie resistance as possible. That was through ... Take us back, Jack, from the Arcadia to the correctional facility, using the same means of escape.
